About Stephanie Madera

I was born and raised in Paso Robles, California. I moved to Idyllwild, California at age 15 and attended Idyllwild Arts Academy high school as a dance major. I graduated in 1999 and then started college at New World School of the Arts in Miami, FL. I lived in Florida for about a year and decided that I really wanted to travel and dance professionally. I have preformed and choreographed in Maryland, Charlotte, Denver, California, Florida, South Carolina, Atlanta, and New York. I moved to New York in March 2003. Shortly after moving I started a job teaching dance to children of all ages. I teach ballet and modern dance. About a year a go I decided that I wanted to go back to school and work on a different degree. I started back at the University of Phoenix online. I took a couple courses there and decided that I wanted to try going to school on campus. I than enrolled as a student at WCC in the fall 2007. My first major was accounting, but then I switched over to my true passion, math. I have always enjoyed math and I find it very interesting. So, now I am a math major and would like to become a math professor someday. I am still teaching part time for the dance department at the JCC of mid-westchester and attending school full time. As far as personal life I got married in Puerto Rico on June 18, 2006. Both my husband and I are back in college. We have no children yet, but plan to in the future. A big part of our life is attending Living Word Christian Church and helping out with different ministries. We help with the greeting, children, special events, and dance ministry. My husband’s family lives in Queens, NY. and most of mine is still in California. My educational goals are to complete each degree through a PhD and become a math professor.
