About Lydia Valentino

I'm 27 and will be graduating from the Liberal Arts SS program by Spring 2009. I moved here from Singapore 5 years ago. However, my family lives in New Zealand now. (And no, we're not gypsies!) I work in Scarsdale and am what Westchesterites call a Household Manager. I basically do everything from liasing with contractors, paying the bills, payroll, children's schedules, ordering groceries, etc. (Or if you like, aka a "surrogate parent") I've been teaching the piano for close to 10 years now and therein lies my passion. I work closely with children of all ages, and occassionally some adults, and enjoy what I do tremendously. But since most kids go to school till 4pm everyday, hence the first job description. I now teach on some weekday evenings and on the weekends. I hold a degree from the Royal Schools of Music (UK) in Piano Teaching. Unfortunately, my credentials are not recognised in the States and that is why I'm back in school! I'm hoping to transfer to Columbia to work on Music Education as they have an awesome joint-program with Juilliard and hey, in the music world, you can't beat that!
