FRIDAY, DECEMBER 11, 2009. There will be NO exceptions.
The Foundation
The Jack Kent Cooke
Foundation is a private, independent foundation dedicated to advancing the
education of exceptionally promising students. The Undergraduate Transfer
Scholarship Program provides funding for tuition, room and board, required
fees, and books for the remainder of the Scholar's undergraduate degree. Awards can be for as much as $30,000
annually.
Minimum
Eligibility
To be eligible to
compete for the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship,
a candidate must:
- Be a current student
at an accredited US community college or two-year institution with sophomore
status, OR a recent graduate within the last five years (since spring 2005),
- Have a cumulative
college grade point average of 3.50 or better on a 4.0 scale (or the
equivalent),
- Have unmet financial
need,
- Plan to transfer to a
four-year college or university to begin full-time studies in the coming fall
(2010), and
- Be nominated by his
or her two-year institution.

NOTE: Applications must be submitted
online by December 11th. Students may not submit applications directly
to the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation.
Hispanic
Scholarship Fund: Scholarships for Community College Students
A number of
scholarships are offered to students of Hispanic heritage. All
applications must be submitted using the HSF online application system
at https://apply.hsf.net/applications/ by the stated deadlines.
General
Criteria:

Be
of Hispanic heritage
-
Be
a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent
resident card or passport stamped I-551 (not expired)

Have
a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0
scale
-
Have
plans to enroll FULL-TIME in a degree seeking program at a two or four
year U.S. accredited institution in the U.S., Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands
or Guam during the 2010-2011 academic year

Must apply for federal financial aid by completing the Free
Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Be
pursuing first undergraduate degree
Scholarship
Programs:
-
HSF/General College Scholarship--Award amounts
generally range from $1,000 to $5,000.

HSF/ Atrisco Heritage Foundation Scholarship--The award amount is
$2,000 to be disbursed in Fall 2010. Please note: these scholarships are
only available to verified heirs of the Atrisco Land Grant of New Mexico
(applicants may reside nationwide). 2.0
minimum GPA.

HSF / HSBC-North America Scholarship Program-- Mustreside in New York County (Bronx, Kings, New York, Queens,
Richmond).

HSF/Marathon Oil Corporation College Scholarship
Program- The scholarship is up
to $15,000 per year. Selected students may receive up to $15,000 for two
academic years for a possible total award of $30,000.

Open to Hispanic Americans, African Americans, Asian
Pacific Islander Americans, or to those of American Indian/Alaskan Native
heritage.

majoring in Accounting, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer
Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Environmental
Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety,Finance, Geology, Information Technology (IT/MIS), Marketing,
Mechanical Engineering.
HSF/ Procter & Gamble
Company Scholarship
-- Must major in
Science,
Technology,
Engineering and
Mathematics (STEM) field.
