    Hispanic Scholarship Fund: Scholarships for Community College Students

    A number of scholarships are offered to students of Hispanic heritage. All applications must be submitted using the HSF online application system at https://apply.hsf.net/applications/ by FEBRUARY 18, 2009.

    General Criteria:

    • Be of Hispanic heritage
    • Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 (not expired)
    • Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
    • Have plans to enroll FULL-TIME in a degree seeking program at a two or four year U.S. accredited institution in the U.S., Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands or Guam during the 2009-2010 academic year
    • Must apply for federal financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
    • Be pursuing first undergraduate degree

    Scholarship Programs:

    • HSF/General College Scholarship--Award amounts generally range from $1,000 to $5,000.
    • HSF/ Atrisco Heritage Foundation Scholarship--The award amount is $2,000 to be disbursed in Fall 2009. Please note: these scholarships are only available to verified heirs of the Atrisco Land Grant of New Mexico (applicants may reside nationwide). 2.0 minimum GPA.
    • HSF/Nissan Community College Transfer Scholarship--The award amount is $2,500. Must be pursuing a degree in Business, Engineering, Public Relations, or Marketing. Must reside or transfer to a four-year institution in one of the following locations:
    • Atlanta, Georgia metropolitan area
    • Chicago, Illinois metropolitan area
    • Greater Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas metropolitan area
    • Jackson/ Canton, Mississippi
    • Los Angeles, California metropolitan area
    • Nashville, Tennessee
    • Northern California
    • New York City/ New Jersey metropolitan area
